Reno mattresses are thin flexible gabions (less than 500mm thick) and are made using the same hexagonal double twisted woven wire mesh as our other gabion products. The mattresses come in cells that are filled with stone and are carefully placed for terraforming and drainage applications.

Material of Reno mattresses
The metal wire used to produce these mattresses is zinc coated to meet or exceed ASTM A475-89 requirements and can either be Galfan (95% Zinc 5% aluminum mischmetal alloy) coated mild steel or Galfan coated with an additional PVC coating for added corrosion resistance. PVC coated units are recommended in river or fluvial conditions where abrasive sediment may be present.

All of the physical and mechanical properties of Reno mattresses meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM A975-97.

Reno mattresses are used for river bank protection, channel linings for erosion control, and embankment stability.
